About
I am currently a 2nd year PhD student in Psychology with Dr. Kevin Dunbar as my supervisor. Our lab is at the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus. I did my masters with Dr. John Kennedy, also at the same university.
I received my Bachelor's of Science degree at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario.
I am focusing on research involving Cognitive Neurogenetics - examining the executive control processes involved in automaticity, attention and working memory using brain imaging and genetic analysis. I am currently examining the brain using functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) system and analyzing genetic variations amongst individuals through DNA genotyping and protein analysis. This research furthers our knowledge on the brain networks and genetic underpinnings involved in executive control processes but helps with understanding psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and ADHD, that have been linked to deficits in these cognitive processes.
