About
I am a direct-admit student working towards a joint PhD. in History and Jewish Studies. I have research interests in Polish, German, Jewish, and general European History, especially socio-political interaction and its role in developing identity. Before becoming a student at the University of Toronto, I was a Take 5 Scholar at the University of Rochester in German Studies (2005-2006), and a Fulbright Research Fellow at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland (2006-2007). My thesis project is to complete a thorough socio-political history of the Republic of Kraków concentrating on internal politics as well as the interaction between various social groups and classes within the city, including the nobility (szlachta), intelligentsia, and Jews. This year I am an Independent Research Fellow at the Centre for American Studies and the Polish Diaspora, as well as an affiliated scholar at the Institute of History, at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, as well as a Research Fellow at the Polish History Museum in Warsaw, Poland.
