About
I am a CGS-SSHRC doctoral candidate in my fourth year of studies. My general areas of interest include the Sociology of Culture, Organizations & Work, Inequality, Gender and Economic Sociology
My dissertation research is broadly concerned with meso-level influences on creativity and innovation. I use the popular music industry as my case study.
Research assistant works in progress include: (1) a project with Professor Judith Taylor on the effects of mentorship on inter-generational relations within the Women's Movement, funded by the Centre for the Study of Students in Postsecondary Education at OISE, and (2) a SSHRC funded project with Professor Shyon Baumann on gender portrayals in Canadian television advertising.
Last fall I was a visiting scholar at Columbia University, where I worked under the mentorship of Professor Damon Phillips and conducted research with songwriters.
