About
My current research centres on the historical geography of 18th century Germany. More specifically, I am studying how 'Europe' figured into 18th century German geographical thought. I approach Europe as more than a concept or an idea, though, and focus on how the actual political and cultural geography of the German states influenced how German geographers understood both Europe and the German states' significance within Europe.
